Boots and Snow Shovels

March 5, 2013

This is the most snow we have had all year and it is still coming down as the day ends.  We have shoveled three times today, since the snow is heavy and we are trying to keep up.  They forecast 10 inches and it looks like we got at least that much.

Snow hill on top of Miscanthus grass.  The two viburnum against the back fence are heavy with snow.  This will be great for the lawn and for all the plants, as spring is right around the corner.  The daffodils are about an inch high under the snow by the back fence.

Snow settles on Blue Muffin Viburnum.  The Arborvitae in the back look weighed down by the snow.  I better get outside tonight and brush that off before the branches break!

Beautiful images! That snow is headed my way ):

  3. First snowstorm we had all winter…happened last night and today. Little flowers that popped up to soon, covered with a blanket of wet, heavy snow. About 10 inches here, in Fredericksburg VA.

  4. Thanks for the comments! The flowers here have not bloomed yet, though the crocuses were out of the ground in January. I am hoping that they will open up as soon as this snow melts, which could be this weekend.

Great post. Seems like this winter is trying to make up for the past couple of years.
